My First Foray Into Paid Solo Ads with UDIMI.

Nothing beats an actual test, so I’m being brave here and recording this just moments after submitting my first solo ad.

So the strategy here is…

The Strategy:

  1. ✅ Get an offer to promote
  2. ✅ Join UDIMI
  3. ✅ Make sure you have a tracking link
  4. ✅ Submit the ad (just your affiliate URL)

Get an Offer to Promote

So I am going to test out the new Funnel in GotBackup called the 24-7-autopilot.

Join UDIMI

UDIMI is “one” of the more popular “Solo Ad” Providers.

BUT What is UDIMI?
It’s a platform that allows you to purchase “ads” or as I like to call them “link space” on owners “Lists”. So they sell “Clicks” or “spots” that they add to their promotions, to help generate clicks to “Your Offer”.
And this is a “Rating or Ranked” system where the vendors are rated by the buyers (us) on how well their “delivery of clicks” were and the results they got…

NOW, You will be definitely guaranteed the number of clicks you purchase… And most add extra on for good measure… BUT Your Offer, Landing Page or where ever you are sending traffic to has a “HIGH Chance” of getting either signup(s) and better yet “Sales”.

But you do want a Good Optin Rate…

Quick Aside I do need to follow up UDIMI as it has a lot of “How To’s” and even a few Tools inside, which I’ll try to go over and report back on… Or you can just go and look yourself 🙂 They Look rather interesting…

Ideally, make sure you have a tracking Link.

Now, With Gotbackup, All the Funnels, Trackers and Autoresponders and Follow Up Emails are all part of the Affiliate Marketing system inside your Members Area ( It’s only $20 USD per Year to participate as an Affiliate) . Although with this new 24-7-autopilot system there was a $17 USD purchase for the Follow Up Emails…

PLUS it has a built in tracking system, so I just created a special tracking link that will let me see what traffic is coming from my Solo Ads.

Submit the Ad ( Which is just your affiliate URL)

To date we have…
CHECK: Link for “Our Offer” which is a purpose built Lead Capture Funnel provided by Getbackup.
CHECK: Joined up Free in UDIMI
CHECK: Tracking Link Created inside GetBackup Members Area.

Now the fun part. This is where we need to select who we are going to buy from and for how many clicks.
Now going by the ranking and the kind of “buyers” their lists are targeting… Like MLM, BizOps, Health etc..
And the other feedback they get, will give you an “indication”…

REMEMBER #1: These are not guaranteed to result in anything. You might Get 0 Signups / 0 Sales, it depends on your actual offer, who you buy your clicks from but ultimately, what mood the folks “clicking” on your links are in… But also remember, they will click on a link… Because they are “curious”…
If you offer is half decent, good things can happen…

REMEMBER #2: This is WHY you want to be Capturing these Leads… They have shown interest to click so you need capture their info, then lead them to the offer… NEVER EVER Send anyone who is a COLD Click I.E Someone you don’t know and they don’t know you – direct to any Offer Page… UNLESS it allows you to Capture Their Information first….

And with the Offer I am promoting, It’s all done for me 🙂

One thing I didn’t mention or if I did didn’t quite specify… With these “Clicks” you can specify either a

  • URL ( Link Only) or
  • Text Link

It’s recommended that you only provide your URL, as the List Owner will then generate the Link Text and as this is their “GIG”, they know what works, so let them do the hard thinking for us…
When you get really ‘whizbang’ at this then you could try the Text link ( that you create ), but that’s solely upto you. ( Which isn’t a little Solo Ad joke… or is it. )

Start Small (Or within Your Budget)

CHECK: Picked a Vendor.
CHECK: Provided the URL to my Offer.
CHECK: Selected the number of clicks I wanted… I chose 100 @ $.40 each… So that’s $43 USD which includes a $3 USD fee.
CHECK: Submitted my Ad… and now I wait…

Now I will be notified when the clicks have been delivered… If there are delays the vendors can and will add a few more for good measure…

Now For the Exciting Part…

So this is the Exciting Part… The waiting… But my work is Done… I have gone through and documented everything as I went… And it’s now “in the Pipe” as they say, so fingers crossed what comes out the other end is impressive.

It’s now in the hands of the …. well the Vendor and hopefully some very excited and interested folks to click, look, opt-in, and or buy in… And as promised, as part of this exercise, I’ll report back with either the good the bad or the ugly news…

The Good, The Bad And the Ugly

Update: 13th June 2025

So as it turns out, the vendor decided that my “offer” wasn’t a good fit for his list(s)… He initially reached out asking if I had something else, but unfortunately I must have taken too long and my initial “request” was cancelled by the vendor and my money returned to me in my UDIMI account… So I could use it, with the same or another vendor.

Now, apart from being a little upset with myself and somewhat embarrased, I was actually overjoyed as this Vendor KNOWS what his list responds to and he decided that my offer would get bad results… And he let me know…

Now this works both ways… FIRSTLY, He doesn’t want me getting annoyed and upset if the results were crap… and SECONDLY, He has a reputation to uphold, so he doesn’t want me to give him a bad rating… And THIRDLY, He doesn’t want to promote offers that his list will think… Hmmm why am I seeing this…

So I messaged him back with my https://timbrownlaw.biz link and he came back and said, Yep that would work… So I’ve resubmmited this new link with the same vendor for 100 Clicks and we shall see what happens.

WHAT ABOUT TRACKING?
Well here’s an interesting thing I didn’t know at that time… UDIMI has built in tracking for you. So for each vendor you get Live Statistics. Now as I write this, I’ve not yet received any so I cannot show you anything as yet… With my website itself, I can see what percentage visits Vs Opt-ins I get so I am pretty well covered to see what happens.

And just so you know… these vendors DO go through the whole process and fully checkout what your “funnel” looks like. The reason is they need to preserve their List Integrity. That’s their livelihood… So they are more protective of their list(s) than a mumma bear is with her cubs…

And you know what… I really like that they do. This is advertising with the Big Boys and Girls.
